Multilingual business cards for international clients

How to present yourself in your client's language, which languages to prioritise and what to translate.

Why language matters

People trust what they can read comfortably. A card in the visitor's own language removes a small friction at exactly the moment you want them to act, and signals that you take their market seriously.

Which languages first?

Start with the languages of the markets you already work in, then add the next one or two where you want to grow. You do not need every language: two or three well-written versions beat ten machine-translated ones.

What to translate

Translate the parts that explain who you are: your job title and a one or two sentence bio. Keep your name, company name and links unchanged. If you have a different booking page per language, tag those links so the right one appears.

Right-to-left languages

Arabic and Hebrew read right to left. A good card flips its layout for these languages so buttons and text line up the way readers expect, rather than showing right-to-left text in a left-to-right layout.

Write it yourself

Automatic translation is fine for a draft, but ask a native speaker to check job titles, which often do not translate literally. The few words on your card carry a lot of weight.
